Our admissions philosophy

Our admissions process is not based on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather an open, continuous process where all children and families who apply are considered for our programs. We approach admissions as an intentional discovery process, a way to ensure our school philosophy truly aligns with your family’s values and your child’s unique developmental journey.

Ultimately, this is the beginning of a meaningful, long-term partnership. We believe that educators, school leadership, and parents form a vital triangle of support, working together to intentionally nurture your child’s growth. Rather than looking at applicants in isolation, we take a holistic approach to assembling the entire group, carefully balancing the dynamics to create the absolute best learning environment for everyone.

Your journey begins by submitting an application through our Parent Portal, available directly on our website. We welcome applications year-round, allowing your family’s story to connect with ours whenever the time is right.

The Fall Open House

To protect the natural rhythm, focus, and privacy of our daily classrooms, we do not host private tours. Instead, we invite our active applicants to an exclusive Open House in the Fall to experience our space firsthand and connect deeply with our educators and philosophy.

Meet & Play

Meeting and interacting with your little one is a vital part of our connection. In early January, applicants are invited to join us for a 30-minute, small-group Meet & Play session. In this gentle, supportive setting, your child can interact naturally with peers and teachers while we get to know their unique essence.

Placement & Assembly

Following our Meet & Play sessions, we begin the mindful process of class composition. Like designing a diverse garden, we look at the whole picture, balancing boy-to-girl ratios, developmental readiness, and overall community fit to ensure every child has the space to thrive.

Frequently asked questions

Timeline & Eligibility

When should we apply for an upcoming school year?

Our formal admissions process begins a full year in advance. For example, if you are looking for placement for September 2027, you would apply starting in September 2026.

To join us, your child must turn 3 years old by December of that school year. If your child was born in 2023, you apply in September 2025 for the 2026 school year. If born in 2024, you apply in September 2026 for the 2027 school year. If born in 2025, you apply in September 2027 for the 2028 school year. Please wait to submit until the correct year opens for your child’s birth year, as early applications do not roll over and you will need to reapply.

Is there a strict application deadline?

Our admissions process is continuous. While the bulk of our placements are made when our first major round of offers goes out in early spring, we intentionally hold spaces throughout the year. Because our focus is entirely on assembling the most cohesive, balanced peer groups rather than who applied first, late applications are absolutely still considered and encouraged.

What happens if I apply in the spring or summer after the first round of offers has already gone out?

Our admissions process remains open and continuous throughout the spring and summer as we fill remaining spaces. Once your late application is reviewed, we will contact you directly to set up a parent interview and organize a personalized, 1:1 Meet & Play session for your little one.

Rhythms & Programs

What does your school year look like, and do you offer mid-year intake?

Our main school year runs from September to June. While our core classrooms usually remain full, we do sometimes add specific placements for our Nature School program starting in January.

Can we combine programs to create a full-day schedule?

Yes. You can seamlessly pair our morning and afternoon programs together and add on our lunch supervision option to create a full-day experience for your child.

Do you offer private tours?

To maintain a calm, undisturbed environment for our children, we do not offer private tours. We exclusively open our doors to active applicants during our annual Fall Open House. We highly encourage you to explore our Instagram page for a daily window into our classrooms.

Tuition & Financials

How are tuition rates determined?

Tuition schedules vary depending on the specific program and schedule. Please reach out to us directly through our contact page, and we will gladly share our current tuition structure with you.

When are tuition fees due?

Tuition can be paid in full on April 1 prior to the September school year starting, or split into two installments due on April 1 and December 31st of the school year. Please note that all tuition fees and deposits are strictly non-refundable.

Offers & The Waitlist

When do we receive our offer?

Our primary round of offers is sent out via email in early spring. Because our process is continuous and we intentionally hold spaces to ensure balanced classrooms, placements will continue throughout the spring and summer months as spots open or are filled.

How does your waitlist work?

Movement on our waitlist does not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. When a spot becomes available, we review the pool to select the child who best balances the classroom’s dynamic, focusing heavily on maintaining an even boy-to-girl ratio and ensuring a cohesive peer group.

What happens if we are on the waitlist and don’t get a spot this year?

You will remain on the waitlist for the specific school year you applied for. Because we do not roll applications over to the following school year, families who do not receive a spot will need to submit a new application when the next yearly cycle opens the following September.
